Paper Dollhouse is the work of Astrud Steehouder. It began as a series of demos written on a keyboard and recorded with a dictaphone. Gradually guitars and vocals were added but a lot of the music is very much in a cinematic vein. Blues-inflected psychedelic fairy tales, music for scenes in films that haven't yet happened... Her debut album A Box Painted Black was released on Bird/ Finders Keepers in December 2011, followed by Aeonflower in 2015.She also plays in The Rayographs.
